Key Features

Boomie Zoomie is a student designed and developed rocket from Purdue University. It is the first liquid-liquid rocket designed entirely by Purdue students and hopes to fly before the end of 2018. The rocket is designed to carry a 2.2 payload to 45,000 feet and meets the requirements set out in the 2017-2019 FAR MARS liquid rocket competition.

Ablatively Cooled Chamber

An ablatively cooled chamber was chosen to keep engineering development costs and time down while reducing the weight of the combustion chamber.

Pintle Injector

A pintle injector was chosen because of the vast amounts of literature available and the stability of combustion that is generally associated with this injector type.
